Taiba is 80km from Fortaleza, driving takes around 1.5h, and a bus ride around 2.5h. Taiba is easily reached by road, from other spots as Combuco, Paracuru, or Lagoinha but driving out of Fortaleza airport is tricky business. You can downwind from Combuco, and drive at the beach and the shoreline roads.
By car. from CE-085, there are 3 exits at Pecem/Taiba direction, the last one CE-156, is the simplest. But if you went out before, you will reach Taiba as well. After turning right from CE 085, drive straight until a traffic circle in a village, keep going with the road turns left, after around 4km , turn right, and drive 10km more to Taiba. When you reach Taiba, turn left to a dirt road (direction of the wind mils), and you reach the kite zone on your right. To reach the lagoon, keep going until a big poussada, up a hill, go around it and you will see the lagoon. CE-085 is easy to reach from Combuco, Taiba , and Paracuru, but can be tricky to reach from Fortaleza airport.
By 4x4. You can drive at the beach while downwind from Combuco . Driving conditions at the beach are dynamic. Transportation options depend on tide, seasonal lagoons and more. So consult the locals, and plan well. Local driver is a good choice.
By bus. Litorânea (Tel: 85 3315.1717 ) and Expresso Brasileiro (Tel: 085 3231.4477 ) (Tel: bus companies, maintains daily line from Fortaleza to Taiba. Unfortunately this company don't operate from the airport, so you need a ride to the buss station. For mode details, read Brazil transportation section.
